"Learning Chinese Characters", by Alison and Laurence Matthews applies mnemonics to learning and remembering Chinese characters. Similar to "Remembering Simplified Hanzi," it uses a bottom-up approach, starting at the component level and working up to build characters and words. The authors extend the use of mnemonics to address pronunciation, as well. I haven't tried doing this. A good preview of the book is available
here.
I won't use the book because I have chosen not to adopt a bottom-up approach to studying characters. But, regardless of your plan of attack, the book provides a good reference for learning how to develop and apply mnemonics.
